Visiting Glenorchy? Let us take you further and give you the opportunity of capturing stunning images of some of New Zealand's most breathtaking scenery during your photographic tour around the Head of the Lake.
We'll make it easy for you to find stunning locations without wasting hours searching for the best spots. You will see lakes, rivers, beech forests, bush lined valleys and sheer-sided mountains.
Whatever your level of expertise, this tailor-made tour is for you, and even if your partner's not a photographer, bring them along they will gain just as much. “Our goal is for every client to leave Glenorchy feeling they have genuinely experienced paradise!”
Glenorchy or Kinloch: You will be collected from your Glenorchy or Kinloch accommodation, or if you are simply driving to Glenorchy for the day we can meet you in the village. We are very environment conscious so you will be driven in comfort in our fully Electric vehicle, firstly visiting some of the secret locations along the shores of Lake Wakatipu, then exploring the historic settlement of Glenorchy. We'll grab a morning tea or coffee before we continue out further to explore the wide open spaces of the Rees and Dart Valleys.
Queenstown: Should you prefer or if you don't have transport, we can also collect you from your central Queenstown accommodation (charges apply).
We can also incorporate a scenic helicopter ride for you with our locally based company HeliGlenorchy should you be interested in seeing the region from above.
The tour is designed for a minimum of two people, however individual tuition can be arranged upon request.

The 'Head of the Lake' really is paradise and it's where our personalised half day photo tours takes place. You will have the opportunity to visit some of the area's majestic locations in and around Glenorchy and beyond, enabling you to capture stunning images whilst under the full guidance of a professional.
Not only will you get breath-taking views of Lake Wakatipu, but also spectacular panoramas of mountains around the Rees and Dart rivers and valleys.
We'll explore some secret locations on the lake's edge taking in the crystal clear waters with the mountains as a backdrop. We'll then grab a morning tea or coffee at the historic settlement of Glenorchy before heading off to explore the wide open spaces of the Rees and Dart Valleys where more exciting photographic opportunities await us.
With 'hands-on' tuition we'll get your camera out of 'automatic' mode and assist you in creating some memorable images - photos to take home and be proud of. Whatever your level of expertise this tour is for you as it's tailored to suit the individuals, and if your partner's happens to not be a photographer, you can bring them along as well, they will gain just as much from the trip as you by simply 'Experiencing Paradise'.

After an extensive period of wet weather Lake Wakatipu rose and the Glenorchy lakefront was submerged.

The Dart River is a fine example of a braided river, however often nature has it's own way of disrupting access to Kinloch.
The Rees River and Valley.
The Rees River is another fine example of a braided river. It's one of the two rivers that enter Lake Wakatipu at Glenorchy.
