What a way to spend a Monday afternoon
Yesterday, Monday was like most other workdays, bit of office work, answering emails, cleaning camera gear, that sort of thing. Then 'BANG', my day changed, the phone rang! It was the lovely Fi from @heliglenorchy saying was I doing anything this afternoon? I thought, here we go go, another last minute photographic job, but know she said "if you can be down at the office in 20 minutes there's a seat to Milford Sound along with a @cruisemilford boat trip around Milford Sound". Needless to say my response was that I could be there in way less than 20 minutes.
What an awesome afternoon it was. Fi and Nick looked after us pre-flight and then were in the hands of the very capable Jeff who flew us up the Dart valley, over the Routeburn Track, over the Harris Saddle with the Hollyford Valley off to the right and then down into Milford Sound.
The boat ride with Cruise Milford was very well run and informative and then it was Jeff again who took us up to the Tutoko Glacier for a chance of spending some time in the snow with the peaks of the Darran Range all around us.
What an absolute blast it was and a big thanks have to go go all at Heli Glenorchy, Nick, Fi, Jeff and the team. When you are next visiting the head of the lake, which I know you will be, this trip is a definite must do.
