New Zealand travels.
During our 2 months away travelling the length and breadth of New Zealand:
We've swum in the sea.......we've walked through the snow.
We've had temperatures in the 20's ...and overnights of -14c degrees.
We've enjoyed barbecues by the beach...yet suffered frozen fingers whilst out photographing in the snow.
We've watched the first light....and sat under the stars.
We've eaten great foods...seafood straight off the wharf, cheeses from the makers, locally made breads and organic fruit and vegetables from the markets plus wines from the regions.
We've had firsts...from the 'National Field Days' to 'Barry Bricknell's Driving Creek Railway', and visited exhibitions like Gallipoli at Te Papa.
We've met up with old friends and spent time with family, receiving great hospitality and a lot of laughs wherever we went.
We've enjoyed many of North and South Island's quiet country roads...and also driven the road from Napier to Gisborne, with truck after truck, hills, bends and rain. Oh, did I mention TRUCKS. Bring back the railroad, that's what I say.
We've been blown around in 130 kmh winds....and driven through the Wellington floods.
We've experienced some magical scenery from watching the surf breaks of Raglan to exploring the snow covered high backroads of the MacKenzie Country.
We've realised that we live in a stunning country...Thank you New Zealand.
