It was a real pleasure to have Sharee from Sharee McBeth Photography join one of our photo tours yesterday. It's always good to see other photographers at work and how they manage to see different things in the same location that you are photographing in. Many thanks to Sharee for allowing us to include one of her photographs. She was seeing patterns and shapes in the Rees River and was then wrapped when a solitary leaf came floating by, check out her amazing image and also her Facebook page.
It's great to see our photo tour clients going that extra yard in order to get the best angle of what they intend photographing. Here Mike from Auckland decided that the trees looked just that bit better from his new vantage point. You'll be glad to hear that he made it back to dry land without getting his feet wet. Good on you Mike.
Brent from Brentmail Photography has just received a silver award for his video entered in the Australian Professional Photographers Awards. have a look, it's a job well done. Hand Crafted from Brent Mail Photography. Check out Brent at brentmailphotography.com
It's always great to see photographs from people I have had the pleasure of meeting on my photo tours. Gary Gibson from Dallas, Texas sent me these photographs he took at the recent Wildflower Festival, they are just great. Gary perhaps you would like to let us know what your settings were for these shots. Cheers. Laurence
Gay has sent us these detail for anyone who is interested. Cheers Gary.
Hi Laurence,
I was shooting with a Canon 5D mkII, kept the ISO at 1600 max this year for sharper images. Lens was a Canon EF 70-200mm f 2.8 IS, wide open most of the time in such low light. That put my shutter at around 1/80 to 1/100, which worked as most of the artists were fairly still. Still keepin it on Manual, LB!
It's great to be able to announce that a client of mine, David McKeown, who I had the pleasure of taking out on a photo tour earlier in the year, has won second place in his Northern Ireland PDI of the Year competition, with his image "Waiting" taken on Kinloch Wharf at the head of Queenstown's Lake Wakatipu. Well done David.
