We recently had a young man out with us on a photo tour who will, in the future, become a photographer to watch out for. Ashley Ray from Melbourne has only recently taken an interest in photography and for the tour borrowed his Auntie's Nikon camera. As I watched him I could tell that he was looking for photographs all the time and from seeing his results he has proved that he has a very good eye for the right composition. Here we see Ash taking shots around the Dart Valley and a couple of the shots he took on the day. As they say "Watch this space". Well done Ash.

We were very lucky to get a still calm day for Jim and Anne from England this week, Queenstown's Lake Wakatipu was giving us some spectacular reflections. Here Jim is looking across to Pigeon Island whilst on one of our Photo Tour to the Head of the Lake.
It's always satisfying when a client on a Photo Tour starts to see possible images for himself. This was the shot that Jim from England pointed out this week at Little Paradise on Queenstown's Lake Wakatipu. We had been photographing in the other direction when he said "Heh, look at that light". Well done Jim, good to see that you are seeing things for yourself.
http://www.missaniela.com/ Discovered this amazing British fashion photographer this morning. Miss Aniela is based in London started her career in photography whilst in university in 2006, her work is now being covered in magazines worldwide. Have a look.
Kati from Dallas was recently with a Photo Tour group to the head of Queenstown's Lake Wakatipu and she took joy in adding stones to the cairns we were finding on our photographic discovery. I've added this photograph to show you that you don't necessarily need to look through the viewfinder to see the photograph you are taking. I took this with my camera low to ground and aimed it towards Kati at an angle I had visualized would be suitable. It didn't concern me that their were grasses in the foreground as both her face and hands were not obstructed. The reason I've posted this shot is because Gary, her father, sent me a shot of me taking the photograph. Thanks Gary.
We recently had the opportunity of photographing for Matt and Kate of 'Paradise Trail' cycle tours. This is taken overlooking the Dart Valley from Paradise, it's a area that the cycle tour spend time touring in. It's also one of the valleys that our Photo Tours visit. The Dart Valley is at the head of Queenstown's Lake Wakatipu, and its' just one of the many breathtaking scenes that we have here in Central Otago.
For travellers visiting Queenstown this is an must see. Check out their web at www.paradisetrail.co.nz/ to see the where four day trip takes you. Or come along and join one of our photo tours to the Head of the Lake. You can see us at www.paradisepictures.co.nz/
